Theo Walcott scored a first-half hat-trick as FA Cup finalists Arsenal made certain of a Champions League group stage place. Walcott, starting for the Gunners for the first time in more than two months, fired an early opener before completing his hat-trick within 37 minutes. Jack Wilshere was also on the scoresheet, before Gareth McAuley headed a second-half goal for Albion.

BURNLEY 1

GOAL:- BURNLEY: INGS 6th.

FA Cup finalists Aston Villa finished the season with a defeat while dropping to 17th place and just three points clear of relegation. An early goal from Danny Ings secured the points for already-relegated Burnley, while keeper Tom Heaton kept his side in the game with a succession of good saves.

Champions Chelsea ended their campaign eight points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League on an emotional afternoon at Stamford Bridge. Didier Drogba was carried off after confirming he is leaving the Blues, while Sunderland took the lead through Steven Fletcher. But a Diego Costa penalty drew Chelsea level before substitute Loic Remy scored twice more.

Marouane Chamakh's second-half goal gave Crystal Palace the victory that saw them finish 10th in the Barclays Premier League with a club record points tally of 48. The result ended Swansea's three-match winning run at Selhurst Park as they offered

little in response. Defeats for Everton and West Ham saw Palace finish in the top half.

Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the group stage of the Europa League after finishing fifth in the Barclays Premier League, thanks to Harry Kane's 31st goal of the season, equalling a club record. With Crystal Palace beating Swansea to move into 10th, Everton were left out of the top half for the first time since 2006.

MANCHESTER UNITED 0

Hull City were relegated from the Barclays Premier League despite drawing with 10-man Manchester United at the KC Stadium. Hull had to win to give themselves any hope of survival. But Newcastle's win against West Ham meant it would not have mattered if they had collected three points. United had Marouane Fellaini sent off 13 minutes from time.

Jamie Vardy completed a perfect week when he celebrated his England call-up with a goal. Vardy, 28, scored his fifth of the season as the Foxes - bottom at the start of April - claimed their seventh wins in nine games. Marc Albrighton doubled their tally before Leonardo Ulloa, Esteban Cambiasso and Andrej Kramaric added further goals. Another player called up for England, QPR's Charlie Austin replied for relegated Rangers.

Frank Lampard scored on his final Barclays Premier League appearance to ensure Manchester City finished the season with a win. The midfielder side-footed home James Milner's cut-back from 10 yards to register his 177th Premier League goal. Sergio Aguero nodded in a second goal from close range late on - his 26th Premier League strike of the season.

GOALS:- NEWCASTLE: SISSOKO 54th; GUTIERREZ 85th.

Newcastle United secured their place in the Barclays Premier League thanks to second-half goals from Moussa Sissoko and Jonas Gutierrez. The Magpies needed to win to guarantee retaining top-flight status and they were sent on their way when Sissoko headed in from close range. Argentine Gutierrez, who provided the assist, then secured victory with a low shot that beat keeper Adrian. It also proved to be West Ham manager Sam Allardyce's last game, with the club later confirming his contract wouldn't be renewed.

GOALS:- STOKE: DIOUF 22nd, 26th; WALTERS 30th; ADAM 41st; N'ZONZI 45th; CROUCH 86th. LIVERPOOL: GERRARD 70th.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard scored on his final performance for Liverpool, but suffered the ignominy of a thrashing at Stoke. The Potters scored three times in the space of eight minutes through Mame Biram Diouf twice and Jonathan Walters. Charlie Adam made it 4-0 and Steven N'Zonzi added the fifth. Gerrard got one back, before substitute Peter Crouch headed Stoke's sixth.
