CHEC's Starballer aims at national team
Barbican Football Club's captain, Ramone 'Passa' McGregor, earned the CHEC Starballer of the Month Award for March.
The former national youth defender said the award was a major surprise because his team got relegated.
However, the in-demand defender will leave Barbican for another Premier League club, as his dream is to establish himself as one of the country's best defenders and break into the national senior team.
"I was surprised at being name Starballer of the Month because my team got relegated and other teams were performing well. But based on my performance and my consistency in games, maybe they realised that I deserved this award," he commented.
"My performance at the latter part of the season was okay, but it could have been better. I am glad for the award because I worked hard for it, although I wasn't really aiming for that," he added.
Throughout their tumultuous and challenging RSPL campaign, McGregor received rave reviews and was one of the club's standout players.
"My decision going forward is that I will not be staying at Barbican. I want to push myself further, so I am going to another Premier League club. I have one club in mind, but I am not sure as yet, so I'll wait and see how things go.
"I would love to play for the senior team. I have my eyes on that as it is always my dream to play for the country, so next season I will be ready to take my opportunity and move up to the national (senior) team," McGregor said.
