Pick-9 heading for $14 million

file Jockey Omar Walker ... should be among the winners tomorrow.

Having eluded punters for yet another raceday on Labour Day, the Pick-9 boasts a whopping carryover of $11.8 million to tomorrow?s meet, and with heavy betting anticipated, a payout in excess of $14 million looks a real possibility.

Although the Labour Day programme was void of any major upset, horses such as SMOKEY TOPAZ and NEW KINGSTON, both at odds of 6-1, along with NOTHINGBUTTHEBEST (9-2) stumped quite a few.

Pick-9 fever should intensify at noon in time for the start of the Pick-9 races over 1820 metres, this for $180,000 claimers.

The first Super-6 will be conducted from race one to six, the late Super-6 from race five to 10, both with guaranteed minimums of $750,000.

Seven starters are down to contest the opening Pick-6 race (claiming $350,000-$300,000) over a mile, including top contenders GO GO TRAIN, PRINCE O?SHAUN and LEGENDARY PLEASURE.

good form lacking

With good recent form somewhat lacking among the horses, GO GO TRAIN, now dropped in class, should seize the opportunity to score an overdue win with only 49.0kg and the improving 3.0kg apprentice Sadeki Blake aboard.

True, she was highly fancied (3-1) to win over 1820 metres last Saturday on a $425,00 claiming tag, but ran below expectations to finish 19 lengths eighth after being slowly into stride. Better for that run, she should win from PRINCE O?SHAUN, LEGENDARY PLEASURE and the front running GRAN CORAZON.

POCKET MONEY, who caught the eye last Saturday when a fast-finishing fourth to PERFECT FLYER over 1300 metres, now has the services of title-chasing jockey Omar Walker in the second race over 1820 metres and given the longer distance, should win from YES WE WILL and RAJ KAPOOR, both winners last time out.

XQUISITE CHOICE (Walker again) gets the right company in the third race over 1400 metres, and despite the good claims of ROVING STAR and hat-trick seeker GEISHA?S CHOICE, it?s her race to lose in a field of seven.

GEORGIAMYLOVE, with in-form Robert Halledeen aboard, looks best of a moderate lot in the fourth race for maiden four-year-olds and up over 1500 metres, while the last two races in the first Super-6 should be won by the speedy mare THIS IS IT (Walker up) ahead of REAL VIBES MACHINE, and the well-forward debutante YOGA (Ameth Robles up) from the Solomon Sharpe stables to beat the speedy BIMINI in the sixth race for maidens over the straight five course.
