Flow Zone a hit at JISA Prep Champs

Contributed Student athletes took a break from the track to enjoy the Flow zone, where they could play the latest video game and have snacks in between races at the recent JISA Prep Champs at the National Stadium.

Hundreds of student athletes descended on the National Stadium last week to participate and witness the 47th annual JISA National Prep Schools Championships. A record 57 schools entered and more than 5,000 supporters screamed and cheered on the young ones at the National Stadium.

The action at the JISA National Prep Schools Champs took place on the track and also along the corridors as the Flow Zone created major excitement for children and adults who attended the athletics event. Flow, an associate sponsor, pulled out all the stops to ensure that the students were fully entertained and engaged.

"We wanted to give students and patrons an opportunity to relax in between races, and we found an excellent way to do that by mounting a state-of-the-art booth with gaming and snack area," said Nicole Campbell, Flow's sponsorship manager.

Flow Zone well received

The Flow Zone was well received especially by the students, who flooded the tents on each of the days of the three-day event. They were able to play games, watch educational features, and interact with the new video product, Advanced Video Service (AVS).

"I think the Flow Zone brings a sense of balance for the students who are running and even those who came out to support as the focus on competition eases and you get a chance to play with a friend. Kids have a competitive edge, whether on the track or playing games, so this was a major attraction," continued Campbell.

Flow's involvement was part of its thrust to support youth development through sport and technology. This is the second year of partnering with JISA to stage the National Prep Schools Champs, and this year they committed an additional combined $250,000 bonus to the top five schools in the competition.

Flow also pumped more money into the overall sponsorship in 2015, investing more than $2.5 million in the championships.

In addition to its commitment to JISA, Flow also provides free Internet to more than 160 primary and high schools across the island through its Building Leaders Through Technology programme.
