Spencer to win yet again at Oslo Diamond League

Kaliese Spencer, who has made an excellent start in the Diamond League 400 metres hurdles, will be running for her third consecutive win in Oslo at the Diamond League meeting tomorrow.

The 'Queen' of the Diamond League in the event, Spencer raced to a season-best 54.45 seconds in winning her second race in a row, in Birmingham, on Sunday and will be hard to oppose as she looks set for another season best.

Despite a nervous moment when hurdling the last barrier on Sunday in Birmingham, where she gave her backers a little scare with an awkward clearance, she was still able to hold off the fast-finishing Cassandra Tate of the United States, who clocked a season-best 54.73.

There will be no Tate in tomorrow's line-up, but Spencer's biggest threat will come from another American, Georganne Moline, the Rome Diamond League winner.

Moline topped the field at the Pietro Mennea Grand Gala in 54.47 seconds to defeat Jamaica's Janieve Russell.

Despite coming into the event with a faster time than Spencer - like she did on several occasions last year - Moline is expected to lose to the Jamaican.

Following her third-place finish to Spencer on Sunday in a season-best 55.00 seconds, defending World Champion Zuzana Hejnova of Czech Republic will be hoping for a better performance, one that would ultimately give the Jamaican a better challenge.

Also in the line-up will be Eilidh Child of Great Britain, who has gone sub-55 seconds this season, but ran disappointingly on Sunday to finish fourth in Birmingham.

Those two, along with the United States' Tiffany Williams, are expected to be Spencer's main challengers, but the Jamaican looks well set to continue her unbeaten run and increase her Diamond League points standing.
