Buzz Nightmare can go all the way

STORMING, with Wesley Henry in the saddle, is led back to the winners' enclosure by stable connections, following the 10th race, the Lotto Dream Trophy, at Caymanas Park last Saturday. The race catered to four-year-old and up (non-winners of three) horses and was run over 1400 metres.

A quality field of six will contest the three-year-old and up open allowance race over the straight five course at Caymanas Park today.

The lineup includes the progressive four-year-old colt, BUZZ NIGHTMARE, who is coming off a recent win over the course; the vastly improved DWAYNE STAR, who finished a close third to POKER STAR in the grade one Lotto Sprint last Saturday; plus proven campaigners CRUCIAL APPEAL, UPPA TUNE and LONG RUNNING TRAIN, all winners over the course.

Despite the quality, BUZZ NIGHTMARE, from the stables of 14-time champion trainer Philip Feanny, looks best equipped to win a race of this nature in present frame of mind.

The fleet-footed bay colt by Into Mischief out of Queen Of Battle chalked up his sixth win from only nine career starts on May 14 over the straight in the G.A. 'Sarge' Bucknor Memorial Cup in overnight company, covering the distance in the smart time of 57.1, to win by 5 1/4 lengths from the favourite, ROYAL ASSAULT.

 

GRADE ONE PACE

 

Although stepping up in class today, this will not deter BUZZ NIGHTMARE, who continues to look fluent at exercise. He definitely possesses grade one pace and coming back well drawn on the outside of the field with only 51.0kg, is tipped to go all the way with Oneil Mullings taking over the reins from veteran jockey Ian Spence.

CRUCIAL APPEAL, now better for the recent pipe opener - (second) behind stable-companion CAMPESINO - looks the principal danger under champion jockey Shane Ellis, having won the Lady Geeta Trophy in grade one company a year ago.

I also like OCEAN SEEKER and VELOCIDAD to win the respective sections of the John Clifford Wright Memorial Cup over the straight for maiden three-year-old fillies; the Peter McMaster-trained CHOO CHOO BLUE to complete a hat-trick of wins in the opening race over 1100 metres; as well as MOM'S STUDENT in the second; BIG GEORGE in the fifth; and GRANDE MARQUE in the eighth race over 800 metres straight, this for $180,000 conditional claimers.
