Donald Quarrie, meet director for the Jamaica International Invitational, is upbeat ahead of Saturday's staging of this year's meet.

"All is set for Saturday, and we are looking for a day of great competition as all the athletes are pumped up and ready for great things," Quarrie said yesterday.

"As usual, we should have a big crowd, and I know that the athletes will once again feed on this and we expect some world leading performances once again as with the meet being held later than usual it is prime tine for them to do," he said.

"After a wonderful start to her season so far, double Olympic sprint champion Elaine Thompson is definitely expected to light up the National Stadium when she competes in the women's 200 metres, fresh off her big 100 metres showing in Shanghai last Saturday," Quarrie said.
