Reggae Boyz to face Canada in September

Jamaica's senior men's football team will face Canada in a friendly international on September 2 at the BMO field in Toronto.

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) confirmed the game in a media release last weekend.

The teams first met on March 13, 1985, in a friendly international that finished in a 1-1 draw. Since then, Jamaica and Canada have met 19 times. Jamaica has won five times, drawn on six occasions, and lost eight times.

They last met in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where Jamaica won 1-0 on July 11, 2015.

Both teams are currently involved in the 2017 edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Jamaica was beaten 2-1 by Curacao in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup final two weeks ago. Before that, the Reggae Boyz were defeated 3-1 by Peru in a friendly international on June 13 in Arequipa.
