Cornwall clip Anchovy 1-0

Defending champions Cornwall College rebounded from their midweek defeat with a 1-0 over Anchovy High in Zone A of the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup yesterday.

After a 0-0 first half, Cornwall came out with a more focused and determined approach on the wet field, but they had to wait until the 84th minute to get the winner from substitute Aiden Jokomba.

Coach Dr Dean Weatherly said his team did well, in the conditions, to get the three points.

"We went back to the drawing board after the midweek loss. We saw where we went wrong and came into this match with a different game plan based on the type of field we were going to play on. It seemed to work out well ... I think the fellows gave me a good performance, and I'm pleased with the win," said Weatherly.
