Defending champion Kimberly Williams produced a lifetime best to win gold with her last attempt in the women's triple jump final at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Williams, who spent all of the competition up to that point in second place behind fellow Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts, troubled the sand a 14.64m, with Ricketts' opening jump mark of 14.52m ensuring a Jamaican one-two in the event. Williams' mark was an improvement on her previous 14.62m personal best, which she had registered in 2013.

Thea Lafond from Dominican, won the bronze medal with a distance of 13.92m
