The Ryan Derby-trained three-year-old filly ARIA is poised to get off the mark in tomorrow's opening event of the Sunrise-6, a maiden condition race for three-year-olds over 1000 metres round.

ARIA chased home the very good Sea Swan in splits of 23.0 x 46.3 over the same distance on August 18 and was put in her place late in the event. There is nothing in tomorrow's opener to test the Patrick Taylor-owned filly on the headlines and she should get an easy lead before pulling away from rivals in the final 100 metres.

The United States-bred two-year-old, AMERICAN INVADER, is tipped to trample rivals in the Race Two for the Terremoto Trophy. Trained by Wayne DaCosta, AMERICAN INVADER has been burning up the exercise tracks and on August 11 blew away Governor's Cup winner Drummer Boy by over four lengths in clocking 1:00.3. BALTUSROL and MOM'S TREASURE both looked impressive in recent maiden wins but DaCosta's American filly looks to be a cut a above these two.

Race Three over 1200 metres will be a two-horse battle between two six-year-olds, POLLY B and SHINING LIGHT. The latter got the better of POLLY B on January 13 this year clocking a very good 1:12.0 for the distance. The handicaps are in SHINING LIGHT's favour but the big drawback for the Gary Griffiths-trained horse is the lack of any matching speed to test POLLY B early. The Rowan Mathie-trained gelding will get an uncontested lead and should be well clear when SHINING LIGHT begins his winning run.

In the fourth, another speedster, FORTUNEONEHUNDRED, is also expected to go all the way. The American-bred gelding is down a level to contest this 1000 metres race for $250,000. The last time he raced in this claiming group, and over this distance, he won by two lengths on June 23. He did finish behind BULLET RAJ on August 4 but is much more suited to this distance and will make no mistake.

Fast finisher KILLER BEE is picked to mow down his rivals in the fifth over 1000 metres straight while NO MONEY FRIEND will use his superior fitness to get home ahead of rivals in the sixth.
