Parsard poised for a Sunrise-6 double

DEAL MARKER should take full advantage of his light weight and make it a post-to-post affair in tomorrow's opening race of the Sunrise-6.

Eleven horses will go to post in the non-winners of three other than maiden event over 1400 metres and DEAL MARKER, third by five lengths over 1600 metres on August 18, should show his appreciation for the fairly significant drop in weight and the reduced distance by slamming his rivals.

In that August 18 race DEAL MARKER was in front up to 400 metres out, but was worn down by Hey Champ and WINTER IS COMING. Earlier on July 8 DEAL MARKER was also caught late and relegated to second by WINTER IS COMING in a 1500m race before winning over 1200m on July 28.

Tomorrow's distance is perfect for the Fitzroy Glispie-trained DEAL MARKER and apprentice Oneil Scott should make no mistake.

Winning Debut

Two-year-olds face the starter in Race Two and Ian Parsard's SWEET LIKE SUGAR is poised for a winning debut. Bred by Karen Parsard, SWEET LIKE SUGAR has been burning up the exercise track since early August. On Sunday, the filly by Traditional - Trippi's Greatstar, breezed 800m in 48.0 beating stable companion Alexandra and should provide in-form jockey Omar Walker with another winner.

GUAVA GROUND is no world beater but he should also have no problem in putting away his rivals in the third over 1000 metres round. The five-year-old gelding chased home the improving Cat''s Rigger and subsequent winner Mary's Gold on August 15 and with nothing of that calibre in tomorrow's race the should easily post his second win.

The Parsard camp is poised for a quick double in the fourth, an 1100 metres race for maiden fillies. Parsard saddles CLASSY MISS, a well-bred filly who is half sister to SUNDANCE. Both are out of the mare Power To Please. SUNDANCE is now campaigning at the lowest levels but clocked 1:07.2 when winning a maiden in 2016 and has also done a fast 1:26.1 for 1400m.

CLASSY MISS bled badly on her second run in March and was given a six-month rest. She comes back well-trained and faces a very moderate field.

DAD'S LUCK can give Walker a win in the fifth while JON MARSHALL is tipped for the sixth.
