Former Director of Public Prosecution Kent Pantry has reportedly been invited to serve as an arbitrator by the Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

Pantry is believed to be considering the invitation, which would see him serve on the CAS panel for a period of four years.

CAS is an international quasi-judicial body, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, which was established to resolve sporting issues through arbitration. CAS also operates offices in New York City and Sydney.

Pantry, who also served previously as chairman of the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel, reportedly received the invitation over the last two days.

If confirmed, Pantry is set to become the first Jamaicans to be appointed as an arbitrator to CAS.
