AT five years old, SHE’S A MANEATER has probably never been better in her life as a racer, getting frighteningly better, year-over-year, despite being asked to run every distance at Caymanas Park, bar five furlongs straight, since debuting as a two-year-old in 2016.

The first of the fairer sex to have ever defended a Superstakes title, doing so by a nose last year when beating WILL IN CHARGE to post the fastest time, 2:05.0, since MIRACLE MAN’s 2:04.3 in 2005, SHE’S A MANEATER is poised to do all sorts of crazy things to the record books today against six rivals.

Neither BIGDADDYKOOL, nor any of his stablemates, Triple Crown winner, SUPREME SOUL, and TOONA CILIATA, possess the pace nor class to stop SHE’S A MANEATER from joining MARK MY WORD, 2010-12, as the third horse to win three consecutive Superstakes, bettered only by MENUDO, who reeled off a quartet of victories, 1999-2003.

BIGDADDYKOOL has only beaten SHE’S A MANEATER once, her third race in a month after winning by a nose in the Superstakes, afterwards posting 1:05.1 in a five-and-a-half furlong sprint, denying CHACE THE GREAT by a head, yet he only managed to stop her by three-quarter length, while in receipt of six pounds at nine furlongs and 25 yards.

At 121lb in the Superstakes, getting five pounds from BIGDADDYKOOL, and only two pounds heavier than three-year-olds SUPREME SOUL, TOONA CILIATA and SENTIENT, on who the Superstakes goalpost was moved by a whole month to facilitate a sightseeing trip to the Caribbean Classic in December, SHE’S A MANEATER could score one of her easier victories this season.

The clockers are still rubbing their eyes after SHE’S A MANEATER’s 1:17.3 for six and a half furlongs was followed by 1:25.2 for seven last Sunday morning.

Having lost only one race in six starts since returning from a well-deserved three-month rest in March, SHE’S A MANEATER has been putting everybody to shame at exercise these days, bar stablemate, unbeaten STRANGER DANGER, who has an exhibition race in the Invitational Mile and with whom she is set to have an epic clash in next month’s Diamond Mile
