Donaldson tipped for Reggae Girlz job
Former Reggae Girlz assistant coach Lorne Donaldson, is being tipped as the man, who will replace Hue Menzies as head coach of Jamaica's senior Reggae Girlz.
Donaldson, who assisted Menzies during the Reggae Girlz historic qualification for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France, is the overwhelming favourite to replace Menzies, who did not renew his contract after a fallout with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) over compensation and poor communication.
President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), Michael Ricketts, announced last Friday that the coaches for the senior Reggae Girlz would be known by Tuesday.
But although the highly-favoured coach, Donaldson, was placed in charge of the national under-20 team with Tashawna Vincent as his assistant and Hubert Busby was selected to lead the Under-17 team, the name of the senior team coach will be revealed at a later date, a source close to the process revealed.
The first assignment for the new coach will be to lead the Girlz through the Concacaf final round Olympic qualifiers, which takes place in the United States from January 28 to February 9.
