Jamaican cyclist Robert Barnes has died.
Barnes represented the country at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, becoming the first Jamaican to compete in the mountain bike event.
Mountain Bike was reintroduced for the 2014 games after last being held in 2006. He finished in 30th place. In addition to cycling he also had an interest in music, playing the guitar in his own band.
In a Gleaner interview before the Games he said that he hoped to share his music with his fellow competitors. "I have a band and I will be taking some of my own music to some of my favourite riders who I hope to meet," he said.
