Ottey to receive Order of Jamaica

Sprint legend Merlene Ottey is set to receive the nation’s fourth highest award at the National Honours and Awards ceremony in October.
For her contributions to track and field, Ottey will be honoured with the Order of Jamaica. She will now be given the official title of Honourable Merlene Ottey.
During her time on the track, she has amassed numerous Commonwealth, Olympic and World Championship medals. She is currently the Indoor 200m world record holder.
The other national award recipients for their services in sports are Howard Bell, Khadija Shaw and Emilio Rodriguez.
