Sir Alton comfortably claims Ronron Trophy

SIR ALTON stamped himself as a sprinter heading to the top class, clocking back-to-back stakes records with a commanding victory in yesterday’s six-furlong Ronron Trophy.
Fresh off his 1:04.4 in the War Zone Trophy on August 30, the United States-bred three-year-old colt hopped to the front with title-chasing jockey Anthony Thomas and cruised to the top of the lane, comfortably ahead of EROY, being ridden to keep pace.
Unleashed by Thomas, SIR ALTON sped off, leaving EROY in his wake, clocking 1:11.1 on a fast track. GLOCK closed from off the pace to narrowly grab second ahead of EROY.
SIR ALTON closed a three-timer for Thomas, the 2018 champion jockey, who continues to keep leader Dane Nelson honest at the top of the standings.
Nelson, who started the afternoon three wins ahead of Thomas, notched two winners, SECRET TRAVELLER and DENBIGH LIFE, to stay two clear of his rival.
Thomas piloted CHINAMAXX and DaCosta’s ELITlST to victory in the fourth and sixth races, respectively, before closing his three-timer aboard impressive SIR ALTON.
