Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) General Secretary Dalton Wint has confirmed that physical trainer Jason Henry is not a member of the contingent travelling for the international friendly match between Jamaica and the United States of America in Austria on March 25.

Wint said that the physio did not obtain a US visa.

However, Wint has denied reports that the team doctor will miss the trip to Austria because of similar reasons.

“There is no truth to that, because there is a doctor on the trip to Austria,” Wint told The Gleaner. “The trainer had an issue in getting a visa because we had a sudden situation and we had to rush out, so the visa was an issue for him.”

Wint said that with no physical trainer on the trip to Austria, the JFF is looking for a replacement before the game.

“It’s something that we need to work out, and the technical staff is working on it to see how best we can alleviate this issue that has arisen,” he said.

Wint said the JFF is also looking to ensure that further visa complications do not affect the team ahead of future travel plans.

“We are working to alleviate that now, but it would be difficult for him to go now because members of the team have already been to the Austrian Embassy in Washington,” he said.

Wint said that the players are expected to receive their Austrian visas today.
