Jamaica College’s Javier Brown now has the distinction of being the second athlete to break a record at the 2021 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships (Champs).

Brown took the Class One 400m hurdles title, stopping the clock in a new Champs record of 49.86 seconds, erasing the previous mark of 49.94 seconds set in 2018 by Rovane Williams.

Excelsior High’s Devontie Archer finished second in 50.43 seconds, while Camperdown High’s Roshawn Clarke earned bronze in 50.93 seconds.

Holmwood Technical’s Cedricka Williams was the first record-breaker at this year's championships, when she set a new mark in the Class Two discus final on Wednesday with a distance of 47.04m
