#Champs 2021 | Edwin's Chevonne Hall breaks Class One 800m record
Edwin Allen’s Chevonne Hall, the Class One Boys 1500m champion, took the Class One 800m title while setting a record in a time of 1:48:58 minutes at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Saturday morning. Rivaldo Marshall of Calabar High School was second in 1:48:86 minutes, while Handal Roban of Jamaica College (JC) was third in 1:50:39 minutes.
St Jago High School’s Alesia Douglas won the Girls equivalent in 2:10:54 minutes. Her teammate Sancia Smith was second in 2:10:58 minutes while Edwin Allen’s Jessica McLean finished third in 2:11:97 minutes.
JC’s Kemarrio Bygrave and Khandale Frue finished first and second in the Class Two Boys final with times of 1:52:00 minutes and 1:53:46 minutes respectively. St Elizabeth Technical High School’s (STETHS) Barrain Smith was third in 1:53:77 minutes.
Rickeisha Simms of Edwin Allen won the Class Two Girls title in 2:08:76 minutes. Jodyann Mitchell of Holmwood Technical High School was second in 2:09:19 minutes while Shone Walters of St Mary High finished third in 2:10:64 minutes.
STETHS' Rashid Green won the Class Three title in 1:59:24 minutes. Rhsaune Johnson snatched the silver medal in 2:00:56 minutes while JC’s Tyrone Lawson had to settle for bronze in 2:00:58 minutes.
LaTanya Johnson of Vere won the Class Three title in 2:12:52 minutes. Holmwood completed the podium places as Cindy Rose and Andrene Peart took silver and bronze in times of 2:13:91 minutes and 2:15:76 minutes respectively.
