Shamar Nicholson set to make Russia his new home with move to Spartak Moscow Former coach Andrew Price expects him to do well

Charleroi’s Jamaican striker, Shamar Nicholson, is on the move after a big first-half to the season in the Belgian Pro League.
Media reports had suggested he would be moving to Russian Premier League outfit Spartak Moscow and would not be with the Belgian club when the January transfer window closes. That has been confirmed.
According to Spartak Moscow’s Twitter page, the Premier Liga club is happy to have the Jamaican international join their ranks and produced a short video showing some of the goals the man nicknamed Bowzer has scored for Charleroi.
Long-time coach, Andrew Price, who remains a confidant of the player, has said he expects Nicholson do well wherever he goes.
Early reports had stated that the player was eyeing a move to the English Premier League (EPL).
A GOOD MOVE
Price spoke about those rumours ahead of the confirmation, saying “a move now to a major competition in Europe is a good move. Everybody wants to play in the English league but not everybody can.”
“The fact is, he is going to play European competition where he can be seen by millions of individuals,” said Price.
“Shamar has put in the work and has had a wonderful season. He has gone into double figures (13 goals) and it is the most he has scored for Charleroi since he has been there and people are noticing.
“So any move is a good move for him and I am sure he is going to make his mark and be a success.
“He has the quality to do that and he has proven it. He has done it in Slovenia and in the Belgian League. So wherever he goes I believe that he can continue to produce,” he added.
Nicholson, who has 10 goals in 29 appearances for Jamaica, has scored 13 goals in 18 Belgian Pro League games this season.
