National striker Michail Antonio nominated for 2021 Concacaf Men's Player of the Year
National striker Michail Antonio has been named among the nominees for the 2021 Concacaf Men's Player of the Year award.
The full list of nominees for the Men's and Women's Player of the Year awards was released yesterday by Concacaf based on their performances in sanctioned regional and FIFA matches and competitions.
Antonio, 31, is among the six nominees.
The others are Canadians Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies, Americans Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie and Mexican international Hirving Lozano.
Antonio is currently the leading goal scorer for the Reggae Boyz so far during their World Cup qualifying campaign, with three goals from six games played.
Jamaica, however, were mathematically eliminated from qualifying on Wednesday because of their 1-0 loss to Costa Rica with three games left in the final round.
National team head coaches, captains, media and fans will vote to determine the award winners with fan voting now open on Concacaf.com.
