CHAMPS 2022 | Hydel's Class Four hurdlers get in on the act

Hydel High's Malayia Duncan began her school's quest to close the gap on ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships leaders Edwin Allen, qualifying for the semi-finals of the Class Four Girls 70m hurdles with the day's quickest time.
Duncan easily won her heat, clocking 10.68 seconds to do so. But she may not have it all her own way in the event as also through to the semi-finals is Edwin Allen's Arihanna Brown, who had the second-fastest time, crossing the tape in 10.73.
Duncan's teammate, Trisaenia Cohen, had the third-fastest time, finishing her heat in 10.91 seconds.
After 16 finals, Hydel are in second place with 83 points, 40 points adrift of Edwin Allen's 123.
The semi-finals are scheduled for tonight at 8:01 p.m.
