Dunbeholden cemented their best Jamaica Premier League (JPL) regular-season finish, securing second place after a 1-1 draw with defending champions Cavalier at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.

Collin Anderson gave Cavalier the lead in the 17th minute before a header from Deandre Thomas restored parity five minutes before halftime. The result secured a first-round playoff bye for the St Catherine-based club after a season that saw them confirm their place in the playoffs for the first time in their history.

Dunbeholden have also set new regular-season marks in 2022. They currently have 13 wins, the most that they have accumulated since their first JPL season in 2018 and currently have the same number of losses (four) similar to 2021, albeit in a 10-game truncated season.

Ahead of their regular-season finale on Sunday, Dunbeholden have amassed 43 points, their highest ever total in a Premier League season, and their second-place regular-season placing is the highest in club history.

Dunbeholden have been in patchy form in their last six games, winning twice, losing twice, and drawing twice. They will complete their regular season fixtures against Harbour View and will have a two-week break before their semi-final series.
