Bolt pulls in big bucks for Soccer Aid World XI

Many-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt has captained the Soccer Aid World XI to victory in the Soccer Aid for Unicef UK charity football match which helped to raise 16 million euros (almost J$2.6 billion) for children in need.

"We raised an incredible 15,673,728 pounds to help children all over the world to have the childhoods they are entitled to," Soccer Aid for Unicef UK wrote in an Instagram post after the game on Sunday.

"Winning is a must," Bolt posted on Instagram under a video with him celebrating with his team.

This is the sixth time overall, and fourth consecutive time that World XI has won.

World XI team won the match, at West Ham United's London Stadium, on penalties against an England invitational team, after drawing 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Unicef UK said although the match is over, donations can still be made until July 29.

Bolt's team also consisted of Patrice Evra, Andriy Shevchenko, Cafu, Dimitar Berbatov, Carli Lloyd, and songwriter Chelcee Grimes.

England was captained by singer Liam Payne and featured Gary Neville, Andrea Pirlo, Jamie Carragher, Teddy Sheringham, David James, Petr Cech, Eni Aluko, Anita Asante, Fara Williams and Olympian Mo Farah.
