Seville gets faster, 100 final awaits

Oblique Seville is all smiles as he comes through his 100-metre semi-final at the National Senior and Junior Athletics Championships inside the National Stadium this evening.

Racers Track Club sprinter Oblique Seville booked his place for tonight's Men's 100-metre final, with the fastest time among the field at the JAAA National Senior and Junior Athletics Championships this afternoon.

Seville won the second semi-final heat in 9.92 seconds ahead of Kemar Bailey-Cole, who clocked 10.04. Jelani Walker was third in 10.05, also securing his spot in the final.

Meanwhile, former World Champion Yohan Blake also advanced to the final, winning his semi-final heat in 9.98 seconds, his second sub-10 clocking of the season.

His Titans track club teammate Ackeem Blake joins him in the final, with a second-place finish of 9.99, while GC Foster College's Kadrian Goldson was the third automatic qualifier in 10.14.

Conroy Jones of Elite Performance and MVP Track Club's Nigel Ellis complete the eight-man lineup for the final which is set to take place at 8:35 p.m.
