JFF Tier Two semis: Maroons, Treasure Beach clash in feature

Chapelton Maroons and Treasure Beach will both be seeking to draw first blood when they meet in the feature first-leg semi-final of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Tier Two competition tomorrow at Drax Hall.
The Maroons and Treasure Beach clash is set to kick off at 3.15 p.m. following the opening semi-final between Falmouth and Faulkland at 1 p.m.
Lenworth Hyde, coach of Chapelton, said once they tighten a few loose areas at the back, they should be able to come away with advantage this weekend.
“The preparation was very good this week. The players are focused and ready for the job at hand,” Hyde said
Although they lost 3-2 to Faulkland in their final preliminary game, Hyde was pleased with the display
“Everyone is motivated. We didn’t win the last game, but we played well and scored. We gave up three goals in that game, so we did some defensive work and tried to fix things at the back.
“Going forward we are doing well and scoring goals and we just have to be disciplined in defence when we do not have the ball,” he added.
He is also wary of Treasure Beach’s main goal threats. “We want to start well from the first leg and try to get some goals. Treasure Beach are a very good team. They have two very good strikers and this makes for an exciting game,” he said.
Leading scorer Kaheim Dixon and Jahvier Lynch will lead the Maroons attack.
Kemar Ricketts, the Treasure Beach coach, said although Chapelton beat them 3-1 in the preliminary round, they should be taken lightly.
“They defeated us 3-1 in the first game so they might think it is a walk over for them. The game is played over two legs, and we must be better than our opponents over the two legs,” he said
In the opening match Faulkland FC who topped the league standings will look to players such as O’Brien Robinson who has 13 goals, goalkeeper Garreth Dennis who was sent off against Treasure Beach in the penultimate round of games and Radcliffe Dawkins.
Falmouth will look to top players Patrick Shecklude, Desmond Moore and Dontae Green in their bid to stop Faulkland.
