After finishing eighth in her first-ever Olympic final in 2021, sprint hurdler Britany Anderson had a breakout year in 2022, announcing herself on the circuit with landmark performances.

The majority of her campaign saw her finish in the top three of the 100m hurdles, finishing no lower than second place from April to July, which included winning the national 100 metres hurdles title in June. In her first World Athletics Championships the following month, she would claim the national record, clocking 12.31 in the semi-finals. In the final she clocked a wind-assisted effort of 12.23 to take silver in the final, her first major global championship medal. Anderson would finish the season strong, placing third in the Diamond League final in Zurich last September. She ended the year ranked third in the world at the discipline.
