Fifth for Jackson in New Balance Indoor 60 metres

World Championships 200 metres champion Shericka Jackson finished fifth in her 60 metres indoor season opener at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix this afternoon in Boston.

Jackson, running in heat two, clocked 7.34 seconds and failed to advance to the final. Her heat was won by America's Mikiah Brisco in 7.15. Jackson's MVP club teammate Anthonique Strachan finished ahead of her in 7.32 to advance to the final.

Meanwhile, World Championships and Olympic 400 metres hurdles champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone also missed out on the final, finishing fifth in her heat in 7.33.

Her American countrywoman Aleia Hobbs won in 7.08 to advance to the final.
