Serena Cole, Natrece East capture Carifta Trials 100 metres

Edwin Allen's Serena Cole made a statement two weeks before the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletic Championships, winning the Under-20 girls’ 100 metres title on the second day of the Carifta Trials at the National Stadium this evening.

Cole stormed to victory in 11.18 seconds ahead of Hydel's Alana Reid, who was second in 11.24. Petersfield’s Alexis James was third in 11.44. Reid had defeated Cole at the recent Central Athletics Championships at GC Foster College.

In the Under-17 girls, it was a first and second finish for Wolmer’s Girls’ School, as Natrece East won in 11.86 with Tianna Marshall behind in 11.87. Shemonique Hazel of Hydel was third in 11.95.
