#Champs2023 | Dr Speed dips below 10 seconds to claim Champs title

Following his record-breaking performance in the semi-final, Kingston College captain Bouwahjgie Nkrumie saved the best for last, becoming the first athlete to dip below 10 seconds over 100 metres at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships inside the National Stadium tonight.
Nkrumie sped to a mind-blowing 9.99 seconds to break his previous 10.08, achieved just 50 minutes earlier.
Herbert Morrison's DeAndre Daley set a personal best mark of 10.14 in chase of Nkrumie, while St Jago's Jaiden Reid was third in 10.26.
In the Boys’ Class II final, a heated contest eventually went to Calabar’s Shaqaune Gordon in a time of 10.40. Gordon was followed closely by St. Elizabeth Technical’s Tremaine Todd, 10.42. Jamaica College’s Dontae Watson took the bronze medal in 10.72.
In the Boys’ Class III 100 final, Kingston College gained maximum points as Joshua Spence took top spot with a 10.92 clocking. Jamaica College’s Malique Spence was second in 11.01, while St Elizabeth Technical’s Shaun Lewis was third in 11:08.
