Jamaica's Tramaine Todd has laid down the gauntlet in the boys’ under-17 100-metre field at the 50th Carifta Games today in Nassau, Bahamas.

Todd clocked the fastest time among the field, winning his first-round heat in 10.68. His teammate Khamani Gordon advanced as a non-automatic qualifier, clocking 11.15 to finish fourth in his first-round heat.

Grenada's Ethan Sam (10.77) and Ishmael Rolle (10.79) are the other top qualifiers from the event.

The semi-finals will begin this afternoon.
