BLUE VINYL hardly broke a sweat, toying with I REALISE from a half-mile out before racing clear in the stretch run under a hand ride from Javaniel Patterson, notching another facile victory against overnight-allowance runners yesterday.

Reporting for the Jamaica Veterinary Board World Vet Day Trophy feature at a mile after a season-opening win against conditional overnight company, BLUE VINYL put the conditions book to shame for the second time in 14 days, clocking an almost effortless 1:38.2.

Running with only 119lb, 3-5 favourite BLUE VINYL, winner of last season’s 2000 Guineas and Jamaica St Leger, romped home by a dozen-and-a-half lengths on another planet ahead of PERFECT BREW, tagging I REALISE for second at the wire.

BLUE VINYL closed the late double for Patterson and trainer Patrick Lynch after 1-5 favourite ABILITY, foaled by 2018 Thornbird Stakes and 1000 Guineas winner, Disability Charm, clocked a solid 1:12.4 at six furlongs for a six-length win, confirming himself as a classic contender.

TWO WINNERS FOR LEWIS

Reyan Lewis rode two winners for champion trainer Jason DaCosta - SHE’S MY FRIEND and BROWN SKIN GIRL - to seal a three-timer on the 10-race card, inching one past Tevin Foster to sit atop the jockeys’ standings on 33 wins.

Lewis had earlier opened his tally with RICKY RICARDO among $250,000 claimers at seven and a half furlongs.

Foster, who started the day on 31 winners, moved to 32 with victory aboard Anthony Nunes’ NUCLEAR NOON, who finished lame after gingerly completing the $1m claiming event at six furlongs.

Racing continues at the weekend with the Portmore and Kingston Stakes races as prep events for the 1000 and 2000 Guineas, respectively.
