World Championship silver medallist Marileidy Paulino won the women's 400m at the 2023 Diamond League season opener in Doha, Qatar today.

Paulino clocked 50.51 seconds for victory while USA's Shamer Little was second in 50.84 and Natalia Kaczmarek of Poland was third in 51.64.

World championship 4x400m silver medallist Candice McLeod was fifth in 52.43 and 2013 world championship bronze medallist Stephenie Ann McPherson was sixth in 52.93 in her 400m debut.

World championship bronze medallist Sada Williams of Barbados was fourth in 52.05.
