RUNAWAY ALGO, ridden by Raddesh Roman, wins the Thunderbird Trophy over seven furlongs, a three-year-old and upwards open allowance stakes at Caymanas Park yesterday.

RUNAWAY ALGO toyed with DUKE down the backstretch before pulling away with Raddesh Roman stroking the United States-bred runner’s mane from a furlong out in yesterday’s Thunderbird Trophy, clocking 1:24.3 at seven furlongs.

Putting aside his recent shock defeat at five furlongs straight, the speedster made light work of the event, beating MONEY MONSTER by fourteen and a quarter lengths, reminding of his grade-one status and devastating middle-distance pace.

RUNAWAY ALGO’s expected match-up against EXCESSIVE FORCE fizzled early with the Mouttet Mile winner being declared a late non-starter.

Roman capped a hat trick of winners on the nine-race card after earlier booting home back-to-back winners, I AM INTERESTED and ANTARCTICA, in the fifth and sixth events, respectively.

Racing continues this afternoon with a nine-race card.
