Jamaica’s Under-22 team drew 1-1 with the Centro Caribe Sports to end their campaign at the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games with just two points from their three group matches.

The young Reggae Boyz drew their opening game 1-1 with Honduras before a 6-0 defeat by Costa Rica. But despite picking up their second draw, the Jamaicans exit the tournament at the bottom of the four-team standings.

The Centro Caribe Sports team, which is a combination of future stars from countries such as Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Haiti dominated the game from the opening whistle and were unfortunate not to go ahead in the first half as they were guilty of wasting at least three great chances.

Six minutes after the break, Jamaica went in front when Christojaye Daley clinically headed home a Tyler Roberts cross.

However, the Centro Caribe team came back even stronger and continuously opened the Jamaican defence until Juan Franco got the equaliser in the 80th minute.

Jamaica then had to hold on dearly for the point with their opponents even hitting the post with almost the final kick of the game.

Honduras (four points) and Costa Rica (three points) were slated to play the group’s final game, with Costa Rica needing at least a draw to join Honduras in the next round as they hold a better goal difference than the Centro Caribe team, which ended with four points.
