General Secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Dennis Chung (left) and President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative (JAAA) Garth Gayle celebrate Jamaica’s goal in the Women’s World Cup match against Panama this morning in Australia. Both were at a breakfast watch party at the Summit House in Kingston to view the game, which Jamaica won 1-0.

Jamaica won at the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history, clipping Panama 1-0 in their second Group F game in Perth, Australia, today.

Vice-captain Allyson Swaby got the lone goal in the 56th minute to secure back-to-back clean sheets and put the Jamaicans in control of their destiny to advance from the group.

It is the first time that Jamaica are keeping two consecutive clean sheets, after earlier in the tournament, playing to a 0-0 draw with France.

Jamaica are now tied with France on four points, with France defeating Brazil earlier today 2-1.

Jamaica will play Brazil in their final group game on Wednesday in Adelaide, Australia.
