Tobi Amusan cleared to defend World Champs 100mh
BUDAPEST, Hungary:
World Championships 100 metres hurdles winner and world record holder Tobi Amusan will defend her title in Budapest, Hungary, after seeing her suspension lifted by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) today.
The disciplinary tribunal decided that Amusan had not committed an anti-doping violation of three whereabouts failures in 12 months.
However, AIU Head, Brett Clothier, expressed his disappointment with the decision and "will review the reasoning in detail before deciding whether to exercise its right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within the applicable deadline".
Amusan was suspended last month pending the hearing, but that suspension was lifted immediately.
