Jamaica’s Fedrick Dacres had to settle for fifth place in the final of the men’s discus at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Dacres produced a championship best effort of 66.72 metres in an event won by Sweden’s Daniel Stahl with a championship record 71.46.

Slovenia’s Kristjan Ceh was second with 70.02m, while Lithuania’s Mykolas Alekna took bronze with his 68.85-metre mark.

Stahl was relegated to second place by Ceh's last throw of the meet and needed to improve on his 69.37 with his final throw.

The rest is history.
