Jamaica's Lamara Distin clears 1.92 metres at the World Athletics Championships inside the National Athletics Championships on her way to qualification for the women's long jump final this morning.

Lamara Distin is through to the women’s high jump final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Distin cleared 1.92 metres for her place in the final.

Unfortunately, the news wasn’t all good for the Jamaicans with Kimberly Williamson’s 1.85 season’s best clearance only good enough for 15th from group B qualification and 28th overall.

Distin’s group A scorecard meant she was the third overall jumper behind the Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Australia’s Eleanor Patterson, who both cleared 1.92 metres as well.

Nobody was made to clear the 1.94-metre automatic qualification mark.
