United States of America’s Sha’Carri Richardson (right) celebrates winning the women’s 4x100 metres ahead of Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson at the World Championships in Hungary, Budapest, today.

The RJRGLEANER Communications Group’s Spencer Darlington, who is in Budapest, Hungary, at the World Championships, reports that Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce sustained a muscle strain while running the second leg in the women’s 4x100 metres final, where the Jamaicans finished second to the United States of America (USA).

Natasha Morrison handed the baton to Fraser-Pryce, who gave it to Sashalee Forbes, who ran a decent curve to Shericka Jackson. The latter failed to catch Sha’Carri Richardson, with the Jamaicans clocking a season’s best of 41.21 seconds behind the USA’s championship record of 41.03.

Great Britain and Northern Ireland secured the bronze medal after clocking the season’s best of 41.97.
