DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CMC):

WEST INDIES Women’s captain Hayley Matthews is on the move again in the ICC Women’s Player Rankings following the latest weekly updates, which also take into consideration performances in the three One-Day Internationals (ODI) and first two Twenty20 Internationals on the current tour against hosts Pakistan.

The 26-year-old Barbadian all-rounder has been in a rich vein of form in both white-ball formats over the past year, and her latest exploits have helped improve her ratings to sit inside the top 10 of all individual ranking categories.

Matthews has risen four spots to seventh and a new career-high rating for ODI batsmen following her Player-of-the-Series performance in the West Indies Women’s series sweep against the Pakistanis this month.

She has also improved one spot to sixth for ODI bowlers and remains in second place for ODI all-rounders.

To round things off, Matthews gained one place and improved to fourth on the list for Twenty20 International batsmen following her half-century in the second match of ongoing series against the Pakistanis.

She remained in sixth place for T20I bowlers and continues to be way out in front for T20I all-rounders to showcase her current run of good form.

A cluster of West Indies Women’s teammates have also improved their positions in the rankings based on their performances against the Pakistanis.

Former captain Stafanie Taylor advanced two places to 16th on the list for ODI batsmen following scores of 73 and 47 in the final two ODIs against Pakistan, while West Indies Women’s vice-captain Shemaine Campbelle gained four places to jump to equal 50th.

West Indies duo Chinelle Henry (up seven spots to 29th) and Karishma Ramharack (up six places to 56th) made ground on the updated list for ODI bowlers.

Ramharack has also moved up 13 places to 22nd in the T20I bowling rankings.
