FOLLOWING HER World Championships win in the women’s 100 metres and another easy win in the shortest of the sprints at Thursday’s Zurich Diamond League in Switzerland, the United States’ Sha’Carri Richardson will be hoping to continue her winning ways today in Italy.

Richardson, who has beaten the top Jamaicans in the short sprint this season, will face two more from the island today at the XXXVI Citta di Padua Athletic Meeting in Italy.

With season’s bests, 11.01 seconds and 11.16, respectively, Briana Williams and Jonielle Smith will be hoping to upset the much-faster American, who has the joint world lead, 10.65 seconds. The Bahamas, Anthonique Strachan and Richardson’s teammate in Budapest, Twaneisha Terry, will also line up in the event.

Three other Jamaicans will compete in Italy today, with sprint hurdler Amoi Brown down to contest the 100 metres hurdles, Michael Campbell in the men’s 100 metres, and Tajay Gayle in the men’s long jump.
