FORMER CHAMPIONS Holmwood Technical seniors were in a menacing mood, blowing away Bellefield 80-0 to top Zone D on Wednesday.

In their two previous games they also had blowouts, a 93-0 win over Porus High School and a 99-0 victory over Alphansus Davis High.

Led by national under-21 development squad members, in goal shooter Jaden Swaby, goal attack Jada Ricketts, centre Jessica Chaplin, and goal defence Shaqwan Hamilton, Holmwood showed no mercy.

Holmwood, favourites to go all the way this season, after failing to reach the final last year, have completed their preliminary round fixtures, ending with eight points. They will now await the winner of Zone A on November 14 in the next round.

It was also a convincing 49-4 win for Holmwood juniors, the defending and all-island champions over Bellefield High. With one game to go against Knox, they looked set to top their Zone.

May Day High’s senior team also scored a big win on Wednesday in Zone E action, getting by Bishop Gibson High 40-17.

In the other senior game on the day, Montego Bay High got the better of Green Pond High 25-17.

In junior action, May Day also got the better of Bishop Gibson, 29-25; Green Pond defeated Montego Bay High 16-7; Irwin High stopped Holland High 8-5 in Zone A; while Cambridge had an 18- 11 win over Rhodes Hall High in Zone B.
