Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum has announced a multi-season partnership with the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Championship and Major League football competitions. The partnership encompasses both cash and product support to the association, to benefit their clubs during the respective competitions. Wray & Nephew’s support extends beyond the field, including assistance in the administration of the competitions.

Dominic Bell, communications manager at J. Wray & Nephew Limited, has reiterated the brand’s social commitment to positively impacting individual and community development through sports:

“Through our sponsorship of the KSAFA Championship and Major League Football competitions, we aim to not only support the growth of football in Kingston and St Andrew, but also to enhance the social and wider cultural well-being of the communities involved. It’s about celebrating the heart and soul of community football. It’s about showcasing the raw talent that exists in every corner of this nation and giving these talented athletes the recognition, they deserve.”

The move further solidifies Wray & Nephew as the leading development partner for football in Jamaica, following the brand’s recent title partnership establishment with the Jamaica Premier League (JPL). Wray & Nephew’s involvement in the league is expected to have a transformative impact on football at the community level. The partnership is designed to provide clubs with valuable competition experience, preparing them for higher levels of the game, including the Wray & Nephew Jamaica Premier League.

Dwayne Dillon, general secretary of KSAFA, believes the partnership between Wray & Nephew and KSAFA will breathe new life into football at the community level.

“With coverage extending across 24 communities and over a million residents in Kingston and St Andrew, this sponsorship will foster friendly and healthy competition. We are particularly excited about reigniting the Friday night football tradition, a legacy pioneered by KSAFA and our company. The immediate impact will be felt through increased entertainment and a sense of community pride,” Dillon said. The KSAFA Championships kicks off today.
