CAVALIER SOCCER Club will have it all to do when they face FC Cincinnati in the second leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup first-round tie at the TQL Stadium in Ohio this evening at 7:00.

However, even with the 2-0 deficit heavily stacking the odds against them, coach Rudolph Speid said they remain positive going into the tie but might need a bit of luck.

“Of course, it will be difficult,” Speid told The Gleaner.

“They are playing at home and bear in mind that we haven’t scored a goal in 90 minutes.

“So it’s a difficult task, but stranger things have happened. We have a game plan going into the game and right now we remain positive.

“In these situations, you need a bit of luck too. But we are going to be positive and we have to try and score goals and maybe with a bit of luck, we could get one early. But we will push to the end and never give up.”

Being two goals down, Cavalier will have to go on the front foot and try to take the game to the opponent, but Speid said they will have to be smart in how they go about it.

“We are not sure what they are going to do. If they are going to sit or try to get more goals. But as soon as we see what they are doing for the first 15 minutes, we will have to adjust and do what we have to do.

“We can’t be too reckless and give away anything, but at the same time, we have to try and force the pace,” he said.

In the first game at the National Stadium last week, the visitors dominated possession and scored late in both halves to secure the advantage.

Speid said they know what is required and will give everything to get the desired result.

“We know that the first team that scores in this game will have to be us and that is what we want to try and achieve. But definitely we have to score two goals to get back on even terms.

“The players are in good spirits. They are not overawed. They aim to give their best and that is what they will be doing.”
