NINE JAMAICANS, headed by last year’s World Championships 100-metre hurdles gold medallist, Danielle Williams, are down to compete in today’s Xiamen Diamond League meet in China.

The Diamond League, which has started early this year due to this summer’s European Championships and Paris Olympic Games, is stacked with World Championships 100-metre champion Sha’Carri Richardson of the United States, who will compete in the 200 metres.

High jumper Christoffe Bryan will be the first Jamaican in action this morning, the high jump scheduled for 4:35 Jamaican time.

Danniel Thomas-Dodd is next up, competing in the shot put at 5:21 a.m. Here she will face the likes of China’s Jiayuan Song and Canada’s Sarah Mitton.

Williams, who surprised the field to win the women’s 100-metre hurdles in Budapest, Hungary, will be joined by Megan Tapper in the sprint hurdles at 6:17 a.m.

Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, World Indoor 60-metre hurdles champion, Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico will also compete.

Tokyo Olympic 110-metre hurdles champion, Hansle Parchment, along with countryman Orlando Bennett will line up at 7:27 a.m.

World Indoor 60-metre bronze medallist Ackeem Blake, Rohan Watson and former World 100-metre champion Yohan Blake are the other Jamaicans down to compete in the straight sprint.
