Dressed in a Jamaica jersey, a laughing Noah Lyles has promised a preview of the performance he intends to put on at the Summer Olympics when he graces the track at the Racers Grand Prix on Saturday.

The American sprinter spoke with journalists today during the Racers Grand Prix press conference at the Jamaica Pegasus in St Andrew.

He will be participating in the sixth staging of the international meet at the National Stadium.

His third time competing at the meet, Lyles shared why he keeps coming back.

“When you go to Jamaica ... I tell everybody, you get treated like a rock star. It's nothing that you're gonna get anywhere else.”

Declaring that he is not worried about his performance over 200-metres, Lyles promised a preview of the work he has been doing in training.

“We have made a lot of headway in my 100-metre training and I am very eager to show everybody how much headway we have made on Saturday,” Lyles said.

With his eyes set on the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Olympic bronze medallist has not given up hope on breaking the world record.

“Every day it's in the back of mind, every day I train as if I am getting closer and closer because every year I get closer and closer. The world record is always going to be in the back of my mind, but an Olympic gold is an Olympic gold. Nobody can take those away from you," Lyles added.
