JAAA Trials | Smikle wins 3rd consecutive men's discus title

Traves Smikle booked his spot at the Paris Olympics as the national discus champion for the third year running and his sixth title overall.

Smikle, on his second attempt, managed to throw a championship best distance of 66.82 metres at the ongoing junior and senior championships at the National Stadium. 

Roje Stone took second in 65.29 metres, while Ralford Mullings took bronze in 64.92 metres.

Reigning national record holder Fedrick Dacres had to settle for fourth as he could only muster a distance of 64.46 metres.
